About

👋 Hi! My name is Enrique or Quique, as you prefer. I am graduated in Biotechnology by the Polytechnic University of Madrid

🎓Throughout this stage, I have specialized in the Computational Biology itinerary. During my career, I have learned to handle and analyze large amounts of genetic data, to learn different computer languages to develop programs for biotechnological research and to use artificial intelligence tools to improve decision-making in various biotechnological problems.

🦾🧠I have a great passion for artificial intelligence and its applications in medicine and biotechnology. I am passionate about staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field and sharing my knowledge with others. I believe that the future of health lies in this field and I would love to be part of the many professionals who are making the way for this implementation to be a reality. In addition, I love communicating and explaining complex concepts in a simple and accessible way.

⭐I am a person who constantly seeks challenges and is greatly motivated when I find them. I am not afraid to fail or make mistakes, as I consider it to be part of the learning and growth process. I am willing to learn, grow, and contribute to any project in which I am involved.

✉ Do not hesitate to contact me to know more about how I can contribute to your projects and challenges. You can reach me on LinkedIn, send me an email or any other method that you think is best.

Work Experiences

  • Data Analyst

    from: 2023, until: present

    Organization:MEDALLocation:Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid, España

    Description:

-Fostering the Analysis of Competency-based Higher Education in TEC Monterrey

    • ELADAIS project (Extraction, Storage and Analysis of Data with High Social Impact)
    • Organization and development II iDANAE Chair Debate Tournament
  • Bioinformatician

    from: 2023, until: 2023

    Organization:MEDALLocation:Madrid

    Description:

Integrating Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Simulation and Artificial Intelligence Techniques for Biological and Health-related Problems.

The student will be a member of a team comprised of professors and researchers from the Applied Mathematics area of the E.T.S.I. de Minas y Energía (ETSIME) and the Biomedical Technology Center (CTB) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Computer personnel and third-year doctoral students will also participate. Both institutions are highly regarded in the field of mathematical models, numerical simulation and artificial intelligence, and their staff has extensive experience in these areas.

The student’s role will be to study various mathematical models of biological, biotechnological and health-related interest, developing efficient calculation algorithms for model resolution and employing artificial intelligence techniques for parameter estimates and model improvement and adjustment. The programming languages Python and R, already known to Biotechnology students for having been used in various subjects, will be used. There will be active collaboration with a doctoral student from the “Mathematical Engineering, Statistics and Operations Research” (IMEIO) program, a joint UPM-UCM, whose thesis is focused mainly on numerical simulation of epidemics, particularly COVID-19, which can offer interesting collaborations in some of the applications developed in this training project. Collaboration will also be established with students and alumni at the Biomedical Technology Center. Therefore, the student will have to develop his or her activity in both institutions.

In addition to the CTB, the student will occasionally collaborate with another research center of the UPM, the Center for Computational Simulation (CCS), which is affiliated with some of the professors involved in these practices, which can help in the computational tasks that are developed.
